    From Amazon:

"Huge, nice features, maybe I just got a bad one"

"Let me start by saying I've spent the last 6 months researching tents, buying tents, setting them up, and in the end returning all of them. Ibought the Wenzel Grand Canyon, the Coleman Rockwall, and an AlpineDesign tent that was discontinued, and the Cougar Flats II. I set thistent up with some friends and it was very easy to do, instructions weregood, tent went up pretty fast. This tent has great features thatnearly had me keeping it but a pole losing the ability to lock (buttonjambed) and the zipper shredding made me think otherwise at this price.I tend to think in lists so I'll run down good bad and otherwise.

Good: Size-large; no HUGE this tent could comfortably sleep 8 adults with room for gear for all of them
Self rolling windows-best innovation in a tent I've seen recently;integrated lighting was great and trouble free; water repellant-we hadlight rain, heavy fog, and camped on soaking ground but this tentstayed bone dry.

Bad: Damaged pole and shredding zipper made me think long term durability was not a quality of this tent.

Other: Rigid door is a nice feature but the pole ends came off andthe velcro doesn't always hold it's a good idea but needs some work.

Overall 3 stars but I'd give it 4 if I didn't have the pole trouble and the shredding zipper."

    From Sam's Club:

    "Excellent Tent"

"This is a greatinvestment. Tent is easy to set up and looks great. It's spacious - Wehad 3 queen size beds and had room for one more. It handles well inwindy conditions and no leaks! Hinged door takes a while to get used toit, but it works well. I had this tent set up for one week at the campsite and had no issues. Again, great investment!"

    "What a tent"

"My wife and Ineeded a larger tent this year for our annual camping trip toWisconsin. We replaced our 8 year old Coleman 12x7. (It still is ingreat condition, just too small). We will not look for anything butColeman because they seem to consistently be the driest tents at ourcampsite.
This tent exceeded our expectations. The weather was lousy, like many years but we were completely dry after 3 days of rain.
Thefeatures of the tent, like the door, are great. It did take a littlegetting used to but it really helps. The tent light is wonderful.
Ifthere is anything wrong with the whole package it is the bag is toosmall. I could not care less though and just left the pole bag out ofthe main bag. Problem solved.
Our campsite had approx 20 tents and everyone wanted to trade with us this year."

    "coleman tent"

"Great tent for theprice. set up was pretty easy. light is great and so is sun roof.desvcriptioon leaves out the room divider and mat for outside door.easydisaasmble.only issue we had was that the bag is not big enough. cantfit tent, light , poles ,mat, divder and canopy in after one takes itout the first time."

"Our family justdownsized from a tent trailer of 20 years to a tent. It just seemed tobe a little easier this way and a little cheaper. After looking allover and reading reviews, this is the tent we bought. I have to say itmeets our every need.
    1. It's large! Every square foot can be used due to the straight walls.
2.The light is great! It doesn’t seem that bright but after a few min. itis really a good light. Reading and playing games – no problem. It doescast a bluish light but you get used to it fast.
    3. It sets up in no time at all. Took longer to read the instructions. Everything is color coded so it goes up in a jiff.
4.The door and windows are the coolest ever. No more fighting the zipper.I did have a little trouble with it but I just need to use it more.(pretty sure I was the problem.)
    5. Take down took a little whileand it was a challenge to get it back in the bag it came in. Everyonelaughed when I took pictures of it as I set it up… but the pictureshelped!
    6. We had a little wind - about 15mph and the tent did fine.I didn't have the guide strings set up because I thought there would beno wind. Still did fine.
On our trip, the highs were in the 70’s andthe lows in the 30’s. Tent held heat and was quite comfortable. Ihighly recommend this tent to anyone with a large family or just needsthe extra room."

"I am a 60 yr oldwoman who just returned from a 2 week camping trip with this tent. Idid what I tell everyone not to do - go camping and set up a new tentfor the first time, by myself, also it was raining.
This tent was VERY easy to set up, the instructions easy to follow and I loved the way the fly was designed.
Isurvived 4 days of rain without leaks and yes the door can be a slightbother but the rest is worth it. I do agree Coleman could have made thebag a little larger."

    "A night to remember"

"When we saw thistent, we knew this is what we wanted for our family of 5. The size, rolling windows, hinged door and light were great. So the first night'sforecast of our first camping outing called for rain. So we hurried toset-up the tent, which was relatively easy, and get everything into thetent before the rain started. About a half hour after this the rainstarted and the fun began. We first noticed some small leaks in some ofthe window and side seams. And then we noticed leaks in the rainflywhich would drip right into the tent. The rainfly leaking was so bad,we actually went outside to make sure we didn't put it on inside out(which we didn't). We toughed it out for the night but it was clearthat this tent was flawed and needed to be returned. But not before ourkids created an indoor slip-n-slide."

    "Good Tent"

"We had no troubleputting this tent together. The instructions were clear and attached tothe carrying bag to prevent being lost. I agree about the zipper on thedoor. It does tend to catch on the fly as you zip it. We had a heavyrainstorm the first night and survived with one small leak, but we hadalso placed a tarp over the rainfly for extra protection. We had twoqueen mattresses plus luggage with room for more. Folding the tent backup was a little more challenging. We were unable to get everything backinto the carrying bag. I wish the manufacturers would make the bag alittle bigger to allow for humans folding it and not a machine.
Wedid have a little fun with the dome light. After going to bed onenight, the dome light suddenly came on by itself, so my husbandunplugged it from the battery pack thinking maybe there was a short. The next morning we noticed the same tent in the campsite across theroad from us. Apparently the remotes for the light work at a distanceand the people in the other tent had accidentally turned our light onin addition to theirs. So the next night we turned their light on! Theycame over the next day to ask us how we like the tent and we all had agood laugh about the light."

    "poles bend like pretzels"

"I bought this tentafter reviewing all the tents at Walmart and this one at Sam's Club. Idecided to go with this one because I was afraid there was a reason whythe ones at Walmart were so cheap. Plus the dome light, hinged door,& rolling window shades all sounded like nice features. I shouldhave known when I got home and started reading the horrible directions, especially the pics which look like they were printed on a dot matrixprinter and were only about 1" x 1". Anyway, the first time I set thisup in the backward, 3 of the curved poles bent right where the curve isas soon as I tried to raise the tent! I immediately returned it toSam's and they gave me my money back no problem. But these metal polesare just WAY to cheap and bend like pretzels. I have a 20 year old tentwith metal poles that has much thicker gauge steel and has never donethis. So I went To Walmart and bought the 14x12 Ozark Trail tent.Directions were much simpler and clearer, and it was actually fun toconstruct. Plus I saved $82 with the Walmart one. I guess moreexpensive isn't always better. Sam's Club usually picks products ofhigh quality as I'm sure they don't want to have return problems, but Ifeel they missed on this one."

"That Door Has Got To GO!!!!!!"

"This could havebeen the perfect tent, but the design of the door-rain flap is justwrong!!!!!! Every time you open and close the door, the flap gets caughtunless you hold on to it while you zip. This can be very aggrevating ifyou are in a hurry because it is raining, or the mosquitos are badoutside!
Other than the door, the tent is probably the best I'veever purchased. Instructions were well explained. Set up for the firsttime was reasonably easy for 2 people to accomplish. It would have beendifficult for one person because of the size. It held up very wellduring a strong wind, heavy rain thunderstorm, and did not leak a drop.Tent design is very good as far as where the windows and door arelocated Roll up -down windows are a plus along with the light andstorage pockets. The electic cord zipper opening should have zippeddown to close and not up. Cord rest on top of zipper when closed andtends to unzip a little bit. So, except for the door, it is a goodtent, but for my next purchase, if I can find a different tent of likesize, I will probably buy a different one, just because of the doorbeing such a pain. I am 54 years old, and spend my entire summer in thetent.
For occasional use, I would say it is a great tent.

    "Huge but not high quality"

"On first outing 2poles failed to function correctly. The hinged door is a good idea butit actually impairs the function of the zipper. We did not experienceany leaks in extremely heavy dew on a cool night it seemed stiflinginside the tent. But loads of space. Had queensize mattress, inflatableloveseat and chair, 4 baskets and duffle bag and room to spare. Set upis challenging without a dedicated helper and it seems like rainflydoesnt extend far enough to deflect rain in a down pour. With damage to2 poles on first use it doesn't seem worth 200$"

    "Love it!"

"On our firstcamping trip with this tent we were caught in a HUGE storm! Thunder, lightning, wind...we did not get one drop of rain in our tent! We didweather proof the top but nothing else. Nothing got wet! If you leavethe top off. The top of the actual tent is all mesh. It lets lots ofair in. With the big windows and top on, it still lets in a greatbreeze. For the price, you can't beat it!"

    "So Far I'm Impressed"

"I bought this tentafter looking at SEVERAL stores and online. I have 2 small children andmy husband and I plan to raise our kids camping. We also plan on havinga third in a few more years. So, we wanted something big enough wherewe could fit us (on our air mattress of course), our 2 kids, and all ofthe STUFF that you have to bring with you when you have young children- and still be able to move around inside the tent. Well, WE FOUND IT!!I looked at 8 person tents or 10 person tents, and I found that eitherthey were dome shaped - which means you can't stand up easily and/oryour mattress would hit the side and you'd wake up with a dew soakedbed (not fun in the cold) or I just didn't like the layout.
This isgreat for space. One LARGE open space with an option of a room divider.Plenty of room for at least 2 air mattresses, lots of room for bags, and plenty of room to walk around. You can walk around the ENTIRE tent, not just the middle.
As far as putting it together, I put it upmyself with my 2 kids running (and crawling) around until the end whenmy 60+ year old parents came over to see it. My husband joined in atthe end to help me raise the poles and my dad helped me with the raincover and extras.
What I like about it is the SIZE, layout, thepoles to put it up are metal and the are connected with bungy cords soit's really easy to know where everything goes. The intructions wereeasy to understand, I like the hinge door - that way you don't feellike you have to zip it and unzip it every time you step away, andwithout the rain cover it's VERY open. In fact the ENTIRE top is mesh.WIthout the rain cover and with the windows open it's very "airy" andopen feeling. And, the battery powered (remote control) light it reallycool too. - Right in the center of the tent - and it has 2 levels ofbrightness. We lit it during the day so I'm not sure how bright itreally is.
The price seemed great to me for the size and what youget. I looked at plenty of 8-10 person tents that ranged anywhere from$120-$190. For just a little more money it's much more room than theothers I've seen. Also, online on other sites I saw this same tent forsale for anywhere between $250-$380.
I haven't seen how it will doin the weather (rain). My only real concern is how it will work atcampsites where they have the pads or boarders set up. Those pads areusually 12x12 - which means this would hang over the edge on both sides- possibly shortening it's life. But, for campsites that have openlayouts - it seems like a great choice for a family. (My parents arethinking about getting one too). they wer both really impressed. Mydad's only questionable comment was that the metal that the poles aremade out of are not a rust proof metal -so he said I'd have to watchfor rust. My mom said this tent would be nice especially because shewould be able to stand up and walk around inside - which makes iteasier on her back.
I'll be watching for other reviews - especially for people who take it to campgrounds! We can't wait to go!"
