- DAC DA17 poles DA17 pre-bent poles are made of proprietary aluminum alloy designed by DAC specifically for tents. By using this alloy, we get a large diameter pole with high stiffness, strength and durability at a cost only a little above inexpensive fiberglass poles. This makes for a tent that is less expensive than the Featherlite or Pressfit pole models, but still touts the durability, lighter weight and benefits of aluminum over fiberglass.

This three-season, three-room camping complex has a middle unit, two removable sleeping compartments and attachment points for a carport (carport not included) along the front awning for space that's as versatile as your travel plans. Airy 8-ft. x 9-ft. main vestibule area with a 7-1/2" height is perfect for use as a common area, for staging equipment or storing bikes. 6-ft. x 7-1/2-ft. sleeping compartments, one on each side of the common area sleeps three people each. Removable sleeping compartments toggle together via clip sleeves. Two doors allow for easy access. Sets up using four 16mm aluminum poles. " Rain Leaks in Round the Door"
"We were really pleased with the tent when we first put it up. Straight
forward to erect, really spacious inside, good insect protection, nice
high roof... Then we went away for our first weekend and it was a
weekend of steady rain-not particularly heavy rain, just steady.
Unfortunately the tent doors leaked. It doesn't seem that the tent we
have is a faulty one, more that there is a fundamental flaw in the
design. Because of the line the door zips follow, rain is able to get
beneath the protecting flaps in the lower half of the door and seep
through the zips into the tent. Fortunately it doesn't come into the
sleeping areas, but still it's very disappointing in a tent that we
expected to be of high quality, that it can't keep the weather out.
Maybe the editor of 2009 Camping Life never tried the tent in the rain before giving it the Editor's Choice award."

"This tent is perfect for the family camping adventure or base camp for
a 24 hour mountain bike race. We can put the pack and play on one side
of the tent and still have a ton of space for the rest of the family.
When you want a SUPER base camp tent, add Kelty's Carport or Car Tarp
to the vestibule and have a ton of living space with room for the
kitchen, camp chairs and a table or park your bikes inside at night.
